Abstract One of the most important new engine concepts is Geared turbofan. In these engines a gear box allows decoupling between fan and turbine rotational speeds. As consequence, separate aerodynamic optimization both components becomes possible leading to an increase in bypass ratios, higher propulsive efficiency lower specific fuel consumption. The multi-stage intermediate pressure (IPT) one key parts thermodynamic cycle geared turbofan architectures. During characterization LPT NGV row, it have detailed losses measurements as accurate possible. Because differences with conventional low turbines (LPT), this mandatory when designed for IPT. main error sources are related circumferential anisotropy, repeatability US DS measurements, effects instrumentation 2D static measurement probe environment.
